As we enter the fall of this crazy year, there are still many questions. We are still in this zone of unknown-COVID, quarantine orders, what will survive this many months. We have seen several businesses close permanently and are encouraging the people that live here to support local shops, dining and entertainment (where allowed). We want our island families to continue to be able to love here and have a business survive these time. We sometimes don’t appreciate what we have until its gone. Some places I used to shop at or eat at have closed and it makes me sad. Yes, this is a weird, unknown time that we are in. Please protect yourself and family by being cautious about hand washing, masks, and large groups. We will get back to normal soon, I hope.
As far as properties on the Big Island…We still have sales happening. Where would you like to be quarantined? is a new line in sales. We have not seen a large inventory so many houses or land is going fast. Please don’t hesitate if you find something you like, it might be gone tomorrow. One thing that is being noticed is that many clients are reaching out to realtors and telling them what they want and the agent is able to find it, sometimes the day it is released. Please reach out to us if you have specific needs and let us help you find the property that will fit your needs.
Short term rentals have not been able to be used and many of those places are now on the market to sell, turning into long term rentals, or sitting vacant. Short term rentals are now existing with permits from the county. If your short term rental is being used as a long term rental, you will lose your short term permit and have to start the process to get a permit again. If you have gone through the process, you understand the time, research and money involved to apply. Please make the decision carefully.
